REBA Activities
Work on behalf of residents is undertaken by members of the REBA Committee approximately 20 people, who are elected each year at the AGM. The personal contribution of Committee members is supplemented by other residents and by engaging town planners , lawyers and other experts on either a pro bono basis or paid for out of REBA funds. Annual membership fees are used to meet day-to-day operating costs and to build a reserve to fund action on major and complex issues to benefit REBA members.
Current and emerging issues and initiatives that will require REBA attention include:
• Monitoring new development plans to ensure compatibility with community desires and the requirements of the “Eagle Bay Special Character Area Policy.”
• Opposition to any expansion of existing boat ramp facilities
• Weed control and environmental protection
• Bush fire mitigation initiatives
• Liaising with the City of Busselton for provision of community infrastructure and facilities at Eagle Bay • Liaising with Water Corporation in regards to reliability and surge capacity for Eagle Bay’s scheme water supply.
